Actor Selim Bayraktar was born on 17 June 1975 in Kirkuk, Iraq, to Iraqi Turkmen parents. He speaks multiple languages very fluently such as Turkish, Ottoman Turkish, Arabic, Kurdish, and English.
As a child, Selim Bayraktar began performing in gymnastic competitions. During the final days of the Iran-Iraq War, a body double of Sadam Hussein visited Bayraktar's school to recruit boys into the army, when Bayraktar was chosen to serve in the army his family decided to send him into Turkey. He started working at the Turkish State Theatre.
