Cha Eun Woo is considered one of the wealthy and successful young celebrities, with an estimated net worth of USD 50 million. In 2021, he purchased a penthouse in Cheongdam-dong for ₩4.9 billion. His current wealth is derived from various sources, including acting, singing, endorsements, and the fashion industry.
In 2025, the wax museum Madame Tussauds included Cha in its Hot 100 list. He ranked 10th in the Hallyu Star Actor category of the "2025 Overseas Korean Wave" survey, making him the only actor in his 20s to reach the top 10. This survey, conducted by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism along with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), included 26,400 participants from 28 countries.
Cha Eun Woo's Tax Dispute
In January 2026, media outlets reported that the National Tax Service (NTS) Seoul Regional Office had notified Cha of a tax reassessment exceeding ₩20 billion (approximately USD 13.6 million) due to alleged income tax evasion. The investigation, which began in early 2025, claimed that a company established by Cha's mother acted as a "paper company" to minimise his tax burden by transferring personal income to a corporate entity with lower tax rates.
On the 29th of that month, Fantagio, Cha's agency, confirmed to Xports News, "It is true that we were assessed an additional tax of 8.2 billion won last year." While some reports suggested the amount was 8.5 billion won, Fantagio clarified that the accurate figure is 8.2 billion won. The National Tax Service also concluded that Cha's agency, Fantagio, improperly benefited from tax advantages through its transactions with Cha Eun Woo’s personal company, resulting in the tax assessment of approximately 8.2 billion won the previous year.
